Another Delay!

My laptop tried to take a flying leap off my dining room table, and my hard drive crashed. It may be a while before I can get back to putting up posts again, but I will! Maybe the holidays will present me with a new computer. In the meantime, I'm still taking suggestions for couples and accepting self submissions. Have a wonderful holiday season :)

Paris Vaughan, born Debra Lois Atkins and daughter of Sarah Vaughan, married Russ Courtnall in August 1995. They have three children Alexandra, Lawton, and Brooklyn. Paris is an actress, and Russ is a former NHL player from British Columbia.

Amber and Nawras

Amber and Nawras met in high-school June 2007, married June 2011, and welcomed daughter Laila later that year. Amber is a student, and Nawras is a business owner.

Sharon Kyle and Dick Price

Sharon Kyle, an adjunct professor of law, is married to Dick Price, a publisher. Dick and Sharon run LA Progressive being the editor and publisher respectively. They have a blended family of four children and a grandchild.

TV: Guinevere and King Arthur

Merlin was a TV series that ran from September 2008 to December 2012 on BBC. When is premiered there was a bit of a dissension over a woman of color cast as Guinevere.

Jimmy and Gayle met online in December 2006 and found they only lived six miles away from each other! He is a retired fireman and she works for the government. They married December 29, 2012 at the firehouse. He has three children and one grandchild. She has no kids but is a terrific aunt to her niece and nephews.

Nancy and Shawn met at church where Shawn is a deacon and Nancy serves on the trustee board. They started dating in 2008 and were married May 7, 2011. Shawn is employed as an electrician and Nancy is a social worker. She attended East Carolina University where she graduated with her masters degree in social work.

Happy summer!

My posts on Just Like Me Couples stopped nearly a year ago in September. I have been dealing with the game of life, and there have just been a few too many curve balls the last year, not all of which I've been able to hit :(  Now, nearly a year later, I'm hoping to return to posting. Not that I want to continue with the baseball metaphors (I'm not a sports fan!), but I can't absolutely guarantee that there won't be any strikes in the future. I may not be able to put up posts every week.

At this moment I have 15 couples to feature. Five famous, one fictional, and nine Just Us couples. All submitted by my wonderful audience. That will take me from this Sunday to the last Sunday in October. Unfortunately, that's not nearly enough. I realize that there may not be enough time between now and this Sunday (so I may have to again delay posting), but if you would like me to post those I have let me know. Maybe by the end of October the ball will be rolling.

Hiatus!

Hello! I haven't been able to post, as I'm sure you have all noticed. I have received so many messages over the years about how many of you have looked forward to seeing the next couple. I have to apologize for the two things that have halted the schedule and put Just Like Me Couples on hiatus: Real life and no couples. Real life has been extremely busy in 2012 due to stress and lack of time (it seems) to get anything done. Although I've received another Just Us couple and several suggestions I don't have enough in the queue to keep another hiatus from happening. I appreciate all of you sticking with me and being patient. I am thankful to the fans who have sent in suggestions. Just know that I haven't given up on this blog and hope to get back to it soon.

Megan and Joe

Megan and Joe have been married for five years and have a sweet 2 1/2 year old daughter and an adorable little boy who is nearly 4 months old. Joe is Megan's soulmate and makes her laugh every day - he's a big teddy bear! Their daughter and son are the lights of their lives.

Marissa and Tom have been in a long distance relationship since 2010 and met in a small bistro in Louisiana where she was working at the time. Tom is Arab American and a student living in Louisiana.  Marissa is an African American and a teacher in New York.

Paula and Dale have been married 27 years, dividing their time between her hometown of Chicago and Colorado.  He is a sports promoter and she recently completed her studies for her Masters degree in theology.

They recently returned to the Chicago area to be closer to their two daughters and six grandchildren.
