Somalian born Ayaan Hirsi Ali (aka Ayann Hirsi Magan) is in a relationship with British Niall Ferguson as of early 2010. Ayaan is a Dutch national, activist, writer, polititian, and founder of the AHA Foundation. Niall is a historian and has three children from his first marriage.

Zadie Smith and Nick Laird

Zadie Smith, who has a Jamaican mother and English father, married Irish born Nicholas Laird in 2004. Both Zadie, born Sadie, and Nick are novelists, but Nick also writes poetry. The two have a daughter, Katherine.

Lorraine Hansberry and Robert Nemiroff

Lorraine Hansberry, a playwright and author, married Robert Nemiroff, a Broadway producer, in 1953. Lorraine is best known for her play A Raisin in the Sun. The two divorced in 1962, Lorraine passed away in 1965 from cancer, and Robert devoted much of his life to making her works known. Robert also passed away from cancer in 1991.

Vita Gasaway and Neely Tucker

Neely Tucker and Vita Gasaway married in September 1994. Neely is a writer and Vita was a coworker and neighbor when they met. They have an adopted daughter, Chipo. There is a great picture of their family at the link below.
